VanDevere Collision Center did a spectacular job of repairing the damage to my car, and the employees were informative, polite, and thorough- especially Shane Schwaben, who did the initial estimate and was my primary contact throughout the repair process. THAT part of the experience was great. On the other hand, I do have a few concerns. One is not exactly with the VanDevere Collision Center, but with the factory shipping and receiving department who were assigned the very ordinary task of packing and shipping one new door. This should not be a difficult task- especially if it is part of one's regular work responsibilities- wrap it, secure it to a pallet or into a container, load it, and transport it. I have done this with even more fragile large items as part of my work responsibilities in the past, and it's not hard to do- and it should be extremely easy if it's a routine task, as it undoubtedly is for them. When this task results in the arrival of damaged doors again and again and again, it makes it obvious that there is a major issue with that shipping and receiving department that needs to be addressed and corrected with retraining or increased supervision. Damage to a new unpainted door is obvious- damage to other parts they are sending out may not be as noticeable and could result in injury or death, rather than merely resulting in extreme inconvenience to customers like myself and to the ALREADY UNDERSTAFFED and STRESSED employees at VanDevere Collision Center.
